Lions’ Cross Country Team’s Fitness Put to the Test in Melchsee Frutt


cross countryThis Friday, the Upper School cross country team traveled to Melchsee Frutt for the annual Mountain Training weekend.

A total of 26 runners went, along with 4 chaperons. The weekend consisted of 4 runs and one hike; all were different distances. The main run was on Saturday – the longest distance run was 22 kilometers by Isabel Lane (’17), Hannah Friedrichs (’17), Martin Kessler (’17), Pierre Ledan (’17), Miguel Aragon (’17), Nicholas Mile (’17), Robin Blackwell (’17), Adrian Klajnscek (’17) Dan Millar (’16) and Raghav Maheshwari (’16).

Every single runner challenged themselves and did extremely well. It was a great start to the season, as the team started to get into shape again.

Next Friday, September 18th, a group of selected runners will be travelling to Frankfurt, Germany compete in their first 5km race of the season.
