Cross Country Continues To Achieve Wins and Personal Bests in Munich

On Friday, the Upper School Cross Country team boarded a bus along with the Middle School Tennis and Cross Country teams.

After a long bus journey with a stop for lunch, the team arrived in Munich just in time to join the Munich team for practice. After jogging the course, we cheered on the rest of the Zurich teams that were competing in other sports.

With a relaxed start on Saturday, the girls’ race began at 11:45 am. The Upper School did very well with Caitlin Fowlds (’17), Anna Clay (’19), Hannah Friedrichs (’17) and Isabel Mullens (’19), placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Many Upper School girls also ran 5km personal bests.

The boys’ race started immediately after the girls’. The boys had a strong finish with Oliver Hinebauch (’19), Flint Craig (’19) and Eshaan Agrawal (’19) placing 4th, 6th and 10th respectively. Some boys improved on personal bests set the week before in Frankfurt.

The Upper School Cross Country team had a successful weekend, with the girls placing 1st overall and the boys placing 2nd.

The team is looking forward to competing across the lake next weekend at ICS (Inter-community School Zurich) for the SGIS (Swiss Group of International Schools) tournament.
