As 2018 kicks off and school begins again, so do the various events hosted by the many ZIS
The Nepal service club is organizing a “Quiz Night” on February 2nd, 2018 at 18:30 in the
Upper School Theater. This event will include a quiz about a variety of topics ranging from
Nepal facts to general knowledge, all with a humorous twist! There will also be a silent auction,
where items such as custom baskets, cosmetic essentials, and art will be sold to profit the
Nawa Griha school. This school is for street children in Kathmandu and is run by a ZIS alumni;
this is also the school that the Nepal CWW will be helping during their trip in June 2018.
Students on this trip will prepare and teach lessons at the school, as well as try to raise as
many funds to support the school, by organizing events like this Quiz Night. Alongside the
auction and quiz, a traditional dinner will be served, with multiple desserts baked by students
to end the night.
This event is the opportunity for peers of the Nepal Club and ZIS community to offer their
support for a time-worthy cause. The increase in service clubs in the Upper School is proof of
ZIS’s increasing interest in helping members of its community abroad and locally, as
demonstrated with the 10th grade animal shelter club and refugee camp club, as well as the
many CWW trips that help schools from Sri Lanka, Ghana, Tanzania, and of course Nepal!
The members of the Nepal service club hope to see as many familiar faces as possible, but
welcome any friends of ZIS families to join them for the night.
